Meet Yolanda Johnson - Change Agent #0026 of our #SCN1000ChangeAgents Series.
Yolanda Johnson is the owner of Beyond Measure, LLC, a consultancy that provides leadership, management, and diversity & inclusion training workshops.
Yolanda has over 25 years of experience in the vocational education, juvenile justice, and nonprofit sectors. She is employed as a nonprofit program director where she trains corporate legal professionals, law enforcement officers, and community professionals to implement legal and civic education programs to young people across the country.
Yolanda is a Certified Mediator, a member of the Society for Diversity and the American Business Women’s Association. Yolanda serves as Board President of Equipment Connections for Children, a nonprofit that provides essential equipment to disabled children. Her events and podcast, “Can You See Me: Women.Leadership.Race” are designed to promote diversity and elevate the voice of women of different backgrounds, races, and socioeconomic status. She is featured author in the anthology, “Set Apart and Chosen: God Uses Ordinary Women To Do Extraordinary Things”.
Yolanda was born and raised in Long Island, NY with southern roots in Georgia and Florida. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Bowie State University, and a Master’s in Organizational Leadership from Nyack College.
As a young mother, while working and attending college, Yolanda raised her two children: Lewis, 28, a restaurant server, author, and musician lives in Austin, Texas and Dana, 27, holds an MSW in Global Practice, she is a Development Director for a national foundation and lives in Chicago. Yolanda is married and currently resides in Hanover, Maryland. She loves to cook, travel, and enjoy time with family and friends. You can catch Yolanda having a cup of dirty chai tea!
