    Leadership Book Club Cluster

This session's book is No Bad Parts: Healing Trauma and Restoring Wholeness with the Internal Family Systems Model by Richard Schwartz Ph.D.

We invite you to participate in SCN's Leadership Book Club Cluster hosted by Nebula Change Agent, Janet Tamassia, Founder of The Sage Sisters.

We each bring our own strengths, skills, life experiences, beliefs, fears/insecurities, motivators, and ambitions to our work. The more we learn about what we bring, and how and why people are different from us, the better we can lead diverse teams to work together cohesively, compassionately, and collaboratively.

The Leadership Book Club Cluster discusses a personal development book, with a focus on how it informs and empowers us as leaders, and how we can and will use the information to further develop our own leadership skills.

    We come together to:

    • Discover new ideas and perspectives and have “aha!” moments
    • Grow and contribute to the growth of others
    • Share our personal experiences, insights, and wisdom
    • Share other resources for further learning
    • Inspire and uplift, and walk away feeling inspired and uplifted

We have an open, free-flowing discussion aided by discussion questions. Whether you’ve read (or listened to) the book or not, you are welcome to attend and participate. With that said, it naturally deepens the conversation when you are aware of the author’s work and/or the concepts presented within the book.

            Expressive Arts Cluster for Leaders

How Leaders can benefit from Expressive Arts?

When you are a leader in any field you encounter complex problems or unexpected ones and have to make quick decisions. Expressive arts can help develop a wide range of leadership skills such as organizing, public speaking, tapping one’s intuition, courage, and articulation, taking ownership of your own actions and bringing your authenticity to the table.

Through expression and creative play individuals will delve into their deeper self and will discover dormant strengths and skills within them. The unpredictability and creative problem solving will help conscious leaders understand themselves better and foster creativity so they can find multiple creative solutions to any arising problems. Through expressive arts they will be pushing new innovative ideas, practicing their courage muscle to show up and perform and learn to take ownership of their actions.

Expressive arts also involve risk taking. Leaders can strengthen this skill to think against the mainstream using innovative and creative problem solving, through active participation and collaboration with their peers they can develop social skills. Participants will also learn how to take ownership of one’s ideas, lead with confidence and stand true in their authenticity.

Finally, you will develop compassion, empathy, and how to listen and work with others. These skills and qualities will further give you the confidence to become better leaders, role models and visionaries.

                        Leadership Book Club Cluster

This session's book is Listen: How to Embrace the Difficult Conversations Life Throws at You by Jen Dalton

The Enneagram is an ancient personality typing system that helps you understand how you see and relate to the world and how others see and relate to the world differently. Learning your type and the types of those around you helps you have greater compassion for our yourself and others, improve your relationships, and be your best self. We will focus on how this information informs and impacts you as leaders.
